About virus or malware false alerts

If you get a virus or malware alert from your anti-virus or protection software about Quick Clipboard Editor being a potential threat, this is not the case (you can trust me… or read this setup EXE file or portable ZIP file anti-virus report by VirusTotal.com :-). - when in the proofreading tool, hit F5 again to save your changes to the Clipboard and return to QCE
- support multiple selections: when proofreading multiple clips, the app reuses the same window for each selection
- in "Options, External tools", configurable parameters include: browser path, app arguments, LanguageTool URL, window titles for detection, and a character limit (default 2,000)

Performance vs. Reliability
https://clipboard.quickaccesspopup.com/optimizing-qce/
- added the "Global delay factor" under "Options, Various" (default value: 3)
- add the option "Debug delays with beeps and popup tips" under "Options, Various"
- NOTE: the previous value "DelayFactor=" found under [Delays] in the quickclipboardeditor.ini file with a default value of 2 is now obsolete. It has been replaced with the new option "Global delay factor" with a default value of 3. If you find QCE a bit slower, this is normal. Adjust the "Global delay factor" to 2.5, 2 or less if you do not experience execution errors or see how to fine tune speed vs. reliability in https://clipboard.quickaccesspopup.com/optimizing-qce/

Various
- improve converting an image or clipboard content to Base64 (under "Convert, Binary")
- fixed an issue where calling the "Sort again" section would fail if the "Sort" function had not been used previously
- added a specific error message if the user attempts to save a clipboard image to a file when the clipboard does not contain image data

Version: 3.2 (2026-01-11)

  - location to get (receive) transferred clips
- under the "File" menu, add submenu "Cloud Transfer" with menu items to:
  - "Put current editor content into Transfer location"
  - "Put multiple clips into Transfer location" (text clips only at this time)
  - "Get newest clip from Transfer location"
  - "Get multiple clips from Transfer location"
  - if the Cloud Transfer locations are not set, "Configure Transfer location"
- add two shortcuts active in QCE only:
  - Shift + Ctrl + P to put to the transfer location the current content of the Clipboard or the Editor (if its content is not saved)
  - Shift + Ctrl + G to get newest transferred file and load it to the Clipboard
- add an option to set the "Maximum number of seconds to wait for the newest clip" (default 5 seconds)
- add an option to set the "Default number of clips to save in the Put transfer location" (default 10 clips)
- Note: Exchanging the current Clipboard works for both text and binary clips. However, when transferring the current content of the Clipboard, some formats may be lost in transfer but text and images are generally transferred). Also, at this time, putting multiple clips only save text clips.

Local and Global hotkeys for Pinned clips
https://clipboard.quickaccesspopup.com/features/#pinned
- add a new section in the "Options" dialog box for "Pinned clips" options
- add checkboxes to select what keyboard modifiers (None or a combination of Shift, Control, Alt or Windows) can be used for keys 1 to 0 to
  - paste Pinned clips text in the editor ("Local" modifiers)
  - or paste Pinned clips in any format including images in the active window of any application ("Global" modifiers)
- forbid the use of the Shift key alone as modifier (this would prevent the use of symbols like $, %, etc.)
- add two columns in the "Manage Pinned clips" dialog box to list "Local" and "Global" hotkeys

Hotkeys to select clips in search results
- in "History Search / Quick Paste" dialog box, implement local hotkeys Alt + 1 to Alt + 0 to select one of the ten first clips in search results
- under "Options, Clipboard History", add the option "Show order # of 10 first clips" to display or not a new column containing the clip order number in search results
